Passage: Genesis 3:1-15
In this first Sunday of Advent, we begin a sermon series entitled Christmas in the Old Testament. For the next four weeks we will look at several key Old Testament prophecies that predicted the coming Messiah and which were clearly fulfilled in Jesus Christ. This morning, we go all the way back to the beginning and to what has been called the first announcement of the Gospel in all of Scripture. In this passage, we will see humanity’s problem and God’s solution to that problem. Most importantly, we will come away with a greater sense of God’s graciousness as He announces, in the midst of judgment, the One who come to rescue us from our predicament – the seed of the woman; the Skull Crusher!
