Passage: Ephesians 6:14b
Last week, we began in earnest out study through the spiritual armor God provides all his children with a look at the belt of truth. Today, we move to the breastplate of righteousness. We should keep in mind that it is God who provides his own armor to the Christian for the battle. Righteousness is essential for our warfare. While there is disagreement over whether this righteousness it that of Christ’s which has been credited to us in justification, or whether it is the practical outworking of righteousness in our own lives as we are progressively transformed into the image of Christ, we need not chose one or the other. In fact, both are absolutely essential for us to stand firm against the attacks of the enemy.
