Passage: Mark 1:9-11
This event in the life of our Lord is one that is recorded in each of the four gospels which is an indication of its importance. But you might be wondering why it was necessary for Jesus to be baptized, especially by John who was preaching a baptism for the forgiveness of sins, something Jesus certainly did not need for himself. As we continue our series in the Gospel of Mark, we will consider the significance and the reasons for Jesus being baptized and the lessons we can learn and apply to our own lives from this act.
