Why was David, whose acts of sin rivaled or exceeded others’, called “a man after God’s own heart”? We’ll find the answer in the contrast God pointedly and providentially records between Saul and David. Both men were sorry for their sin, showed remorse for sin, even took ownership of sin, but only David truly repented of his sin.
