Passage: Luke 2:8-20
For the next month, we will be celebrating the season of Advent, a time for us to consider the significance of Jesus’ first coming and for us to prepare our hearts for his return. This year, we will use the beloved Christmas carol, What Child is This?, as a way to focus on the person and work of Christ. Today, we begin by looking to the shepherds who heard that amazing angelic announcement and went to see the world-saving baby in a manger. As we do, let’s remember that Jesus was born to be our Good Shepherd, our protector, provider, and Savior.
